Welcome to my website! I’m Guilherme Fernandes, a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist in the Chemical Biology Science and Technology Platform (STP). As a medicinal chemist, I specialize in small molecule antimicrobial drug discovery, collaborating with research groups across the Crick to develop chemical tools for exploring complex biological targets.
Before joining the Crick, I was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow at University College London, where I focused on discovering novel antibacterial and antitubercular agents. I later advanced my research as a Maplethorpe Fellow at the UCL School of Pharmacy, furthering the development of antimicrobial agents.
