Welcome to my website! I’m Guilherme Fernandes, Maplethorpe Research Fellow at the UCL School of Pharmacy. As a medicinal chemist, I specialize in antibacterial drug discovery, with a particular focus on combating tuberculosis and Gram-negative bacteria. With antibiotic resistance becoming an increasingly pressing issue, my research aims to design and discover new small molecules that can effectively combat these harmful bacteria. By developing novel drug candidates, I hope to contribute to the global effort to combat antibiotic resistance and improve patient outcomes.
